Course Objectives

This 3-day workshop aims to equip participants
with the practical knowledge and skills of caregiving in order to work as care
associates at eldercare settings.   

 

 Participants will undergo practicum and
competency assessment. To provide participants with practical knowledge
and skills to perform basic duties to care for elderly as a care associate in
the community care sector.                                                                                                      At the end of the course, participants will be
able to understand the nature of work and the role of a care support staff;
assist elderly in their activities of daily living; and perform the basic care
skills necessary to work in the community care sector.

 

 

 

1)  hands-on practice on assisting elderlyin their daily activities and explains ‘WHY and         

     HOW’ of these skill set. 

2)  Learning includes nutrition for elderly, personal care in hygiene, infection control, toileting

     assistance, lifting and transferring, use of mobility aids,

     measure and record vital signs, medication administration and effective

     community skills
