Financial Management Literacy for Retirement Planning

Overview

Planning for retirement goes beyond savings—it is about securing your future, protecting your assets, and ensuring your wishes are respected. This practical 4-hour course is designed to empower individuals with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions about their retirement journey.

Participants will explore how to assess their personal retirement needs, understand the CPF Retirement Schemes, and build sustainable income streams. The course also covers key financial concepts such as investment risks, as well as housing monetisation options like the Lease Buyback Scheme (HDB).

In addition, learners will gain essential knowledge in legacy planning, including CPF nomination, wills, insurance, and Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA)—ensuring their intentions are clearly documented and honoured.

With the rising threat of scams and frauds, this course also equips participants with practical strategies to recognise and safeguard themselves against financial exploitation.

By the end of the session, participants will have a clearer roadmap to:

  • Plan and manage their retirement needs
  • Protect their finances from risks and scams
  • Build and sustain retirement income
  • Make informed decisions about legacy and end-of-life planning
