Course Objectives

To equip participants with the knowledge and skills of a befriender in order to communicate and interact with

the elderly who requires social support in the community. At the end of the course, participants will be able to (a) carry out the role of a befriender; (b) provide emotional support and use effective communication skills; (c) conduct home visits with simple activities (d) manage situation and escalation process (e) provides basic information about

community resources.
